President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives, as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), replacing Dr. Muheeba Dankaka.

This was made known in a statement issued on Monday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the former chairperson’s tenure was “dogged by controversy.”

Mohammed Musa has been named as the Commission’s new Secretary, while Kayode Oladele from Ogun State retains his role as Commissioner.

The President also renewed the appointments of representatives from Jigawa, Kebbi, and Osun States — namely Lawal Ya’u Roni, Abubakar Atiku Bunu, and Eludayo Eluyemi.

Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawalla has been appointed to represent Lagos State as Commissioner.
