TINUBU AWARE OF FOOD PRICES – PRESIDENTIAL AIDE
A presidential aide, Dr Abiodun Essiet, says President Bola Tinubu is aware of the cost of everyday food items and the difficulties Nigerians are facing.
Essiet, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the North-Central, spoke to State House correspondents in Abuja on Tuesday.
She said regular briefings from presidential aides and members of the Federal Executive Council keep Tinubu informed about market prices and concerns raised by communities.
Essiet rejected the suggestion that only journalists understand the hardship facing ordinary Nigerians, saying her work includes communicating people’s experiences directly to the president.
She also highlighted infrastructure as a major public priority, pointing to residents’ response during her visit to a section of the Mokwa-Bida road in Niger State.
According to her, the turnout reflected how strongly communities wanted the road addressed. She said the road was last awarded for construction 46 years ago.
Essiet maintained that investment in infrastructure was central to development and reflected demands being made by residents.
