President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited, as she marks her 55th birthday.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Dr. Elumelu as an accomplished physician, a committed wife and mother, a philanthropist, and a trailblazing entrepreneur. He commended her notable contributions to national development, especially in healthcare and women empowerment.

President Tinubu praised her for a career marked by excellence and recognition, applauding her steadfast efforts to uplift vulnerable communities and improve public health outcomes.

He highlighted her leadership at Avon Healthcare Limited and her role as Founder/CEO of Avon Medical Practice, noting her instrumental work in expanding access to quality healthcare in Nigeria and across Africa, with a focus on underserved populations.

Tinubu also acknowledged her service in 2018 as a Private Sector Champion for Immunisation in Africa under Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Through that role, she helped reach over 10 million children who had previously lacked access to life-saving vaccines, reinforcing her influence in global health.

Beyond her professional pursuits, the President celebrated Dr. Elumelu’s passion for fitness, citing her participation in local and international marathons as an inspiration for many to embrace healthier lifestyles.

He further recognized her philanthropic roles as a Director at Heirs Holdings and a Trustee of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, where she continues to equip Nigerians with entrepreneurial skills and opportunities.
