TINUBU CELEBRATES ORJI KALU AT 66
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State and current Senator representing Abia North, on his 66th birthday.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Kalu as a political ally whose contributions to governance and national development remain significant.
The President commended Kalu’s resilience, vision, and service, noting his impact on both Abia State and the country at large.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s vision, resilience, industry, and service to the nation and commitment to the progress of Abia are noteworthy,” Tinubu said.
He also highlighted Kalu’s business interests, describing him as a media entrepreneur and Chairman of SLOK Holding, with investments in the country’s economic space.
Tinubu wished him good health and continued strength in public service.
The President also referenced Kalu’s two-term tenure as governor of Abia State from 1999 to 2007 and his current role in the Senate, where he chairs the Committee on the South-East Development Commission.
Born on April 21, 1960, in Igbere, Abia State, Kalu has remained active in politics and business.
He served as governor of Abia State between 1999 and 2007 and later became a senator in 2019 after winning the Abia North seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
