President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to return to Abuja today, September 16, 2025, after cutting short his planned two-week vacation in Europe.

This was confirmed by Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement released on Monday, September 15.

According to the statement:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.”

The President left Nigeria on September 4 for France, where he was expected to spend part of his annual holiday before heading to the United Kingdom.

While in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Both leaders reportedly discussed ways to strengthen Nigeria–France cooperation, with a focus on mutual prosperity and global stability.

Originally, the presidency had announced that Tinubu’s vacation would run through both France and the UK, but the President has now opted to return earlier than planned.

With his early return, all eyes will be on the President as he resumes official duties amid pressing national issues.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
