TINUBU ENDS WORKING VACATION, HEADS TO LAGOS
President Bola Tinubu has ended his working vacation in France and departed Paris for Lagos, where he is expected to meet with political leaders and associates.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s aircraft is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos later on Tuesday.
The President left Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation, spending about a week in London before travelling to Paris.
The Presidency said Tinubu chose to return first to Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, who won the June 1993 presidential election and was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
Tinubu is expected to attend the October 1 premiere of a movie celebrating Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
During his stay in Lagos, the President is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates ahead of the 2027 elections.
His working vacation included meetings with prominent business figures in France. He met French President Emmanuel Macron and also held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré and Femi Otedola.
The Presidency also said Tinubu witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ogun State Government and DP World for a proposed deep-sea port and Blue Marine Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside.
The President is expected to return to Abuja after completing his engagements in Lagos.
