President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), as he marks his 90th birthday on July 5 and celebrates one year on the throne on July 12.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the Olubadan as a respected monarch, cultural custodian, and elder statesman whose life stands as a shining example of service and wisdom.

“At 90, His Majesty embodies the rare blend of age-old wisdom, service, and enduring leadership through decades of selfless dedication to nation-building and community development,” President Tinubu said.

The President joined the people of Ibadanland, the Yoruba traditional institutions, and admirers across Nigeria and beyond in celebrating what he called the “remarkable life and legacy” of the 43rd Olubadan.

Reflecting on Oba Olakulehin’s first year as Olubadan, President Tinubu praised the monarch for fostering peace and promoting the well-being of his people. He highlighted the Oba’s reign as a beacon of cultural pride and unity, noting that his leadership continues to inspire hope and strengthen communal bonds.

As the Olubadan steps into a new decade of life and continues his journey on the throne, the President wished him good health and many more years of impactful service to Ibadanland and Nigeria.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
