TINUBU HAS LEFT NIGERIANS POORER, HUNGRIER, ANGRIER – ADC
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the Presidency over its recent claim that President Bola Tinubu has no intention of extending his stay in office beyond 2031.
The party described the statement as presumptuous and undemocratic, insisting that Tinubu must be ready to hand over power to a more capable Nigerian in 2027.
In a statement released on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC stressed that the President’s mandate ends in 2027, adding that Nigerians will not wish to prolong his tenure by even a day.
The party expressed concern over worsening insecurity and the economic downturn, particularly the continued depreciation of the naira.
According to the ADC, the naira has collapsed while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government has pushed many citizens into severe poverty.
“National security has become a cruel joke under his leadership. Terrorists, bandits, and criminals operate freely without fear. People are abducted in broad daylight, rural communities have turned into battlegrounds, and insecurity has become a national nightmare. Sadly, the government lacks both the will and capacity to end it.
“On the economic front, the situation is even more alarming. The naira has crashed, inflation is spiraling out of control, and food prices have tripled in many areas. Jobs are disappearing, the middle class is fading, and once-thriving businesses are collapsing under harsh taxes and inconsistent policies.
“Nigerians are now poorer, hungrier, and more frustrated than they were before Tinubu assumed office,” the ADC lamented.
