Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a two-nation official trip that will take him to Japan and Brazil as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s global economic partnerships. The visits will focus heavily on boosting trade, attracting investment, and opening new opportunities for business collaboration.

The journey begins with a stop in Yokohama, Japan, where Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9). The summit brings together African leaders, Japanese government officials, and top business executives to discuss sustainable development, innovation, and investment in Africa.

While in Japan, Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral talks with Japanese leaders, pitch Nigeria as a prime investment destination, and meet with corporate executives interested in expanding operations in the country. Key areas of discussion will include infrastructure, energy, technology, and manufacturing.

From Japan, the President will travel to Brasília, Brazil, for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. There, the focus will be on deepening Nigeria-Brazil trade ties, encouraging investment in agriculture, oil and gas, and renewable energy, as well as expanding cultural and diplomatic cooperation.

The trip is viewed as part of Tinubu’s broader strategy to establish robust international partnerships, stimulate Nigeria’s economy, and generate opportunities for both foreign investors and local businesses.

By engaging directly with two of the world’s key economies, Tinubu is aiming to put Nigeria firmly on the map as an investment-friendly nation ready for growth in a rapidly changing global market.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
