TINUBU MEETS SERVICE CHIEFS OVER RISING INSECURITY ACROSS NIGERIA
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the nation’s top security chiefs amid growing concerns over escalating insecurity in different parts of Nigeria.
The meeting, taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, is expected to focus on recent terrorist attacks, kidnappings, banditry, and other security threats affecting citizens nationwide.
Those in attendance include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyode; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marshal Kelvin Aneke; and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General E.A.P. Undiendeye.
Also present are the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Tosin Ajayi — signaling a broad, inter-agency approach to tackling the crisis.
While details of the discussions have not yet been made public, Nigerians are hopeful that the meeting will lead to urgent and effective strategies to restore peace and strengthen national security.
