TINUBU NEVER SET DEADLINE TO END POVERTY — APC
The All Progressives Congress has defended President Bola Tinubu’s campaign promises, saying he did not set a specific deadline for ending poverty in Nigeria.
The party’s spokesperson, Felix Morka, made the remarks during a television interview on Tuesday while responding to questions about Tinubu’s pledges to tackle hunger, create jobs and grow the economy.
Morka argued that these goals require gradual progress and should not be treated as outcomes that can be achieved immediately.
He said the president never promised to eradicate poverty within his first 100 days or the first few years of his administration.
The APC spokesperson urged Nigerians to assess Tinubu’s performance over eight years, pointing to the constitutional provision that allows a president to seek a second four-year term.
He acknowledged, however, that a second term depends on voters choosing to re-elect the president.
Morka maintained that long-term policies and reforms take time to deliver results, describing the administration’s campaign objectives as goals to be achieved progressively.
