President Bola Tinubu has ordered a full security cordon across the forests of Kwara State to tackle rising incidents of kidnappings, killings, and terrorist activities. The directive also covers Kebbi and Niger States, which have recently experienced mass abductions by terrorists.

According to a statement shared on X by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Sunday Dare, the Nigerian Air Force has been instructed to expand aerial surveillance across remote forest areas where terrorists are believed to be hiding.

The operation will run 24 hours a day, with constant coordination between air patrols and ground security booths. The goal is to secure communities, track criminal movements, and rescue victims.

Communities are also urged to provide timely information about strange movements and activities to aid the work of the security forces,” the statement added.

The move underscores the government’s renewed focus on improving security and protecting lives in regions that have been particularly vulnerable to terrorist activities in recent times.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
