TINUBU ORDERS SECURITY AGENCIES TO MOVE AGAINST NIGER STATE KIDNAPPERS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s security and intelligence agencies to immediately begin coordinated operations aimed at rescuing victims of a recent mass abduction in Niger State. The President also condemned the attack and described those behind it as enemies of peace and humanity.

The directive was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement issued by the State House on Tuesday. Tinubu expressed concern over the abduction of defenceless Nigerians and assured the victims’ families that the Federal Government was committed to securing their safe return.

The President ordered the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other relevant security and intelligence agencies to work together in carrying out the rescue operation. The coordinated approach is intended to strengthen efforts to locate the abducted persons and bring those responsible for the attack to justice.

Tinubu condemned the attackers in strong terms, describing their action as cowardly and warning that those responsible would not be allowed to escape accountability. He maintained that the government would continue to take necessary measures to protect citizens and confront criminal elements threatening communities across the country.

The latest incident adds to the security challenges facing Niger State and other parts of Nigeria, where kidnapping and other violent crimes have continued to raise concerns among residents. Security agencies have increasingly relied on intelligence-led operations and inter-agency cooperation to track criminal groups and rescue victims.

The President’s directive comes as families and communities affected by the latest abduction await the outcome of the rescue efforts. The security agencies are expected to intensify their operations while working to establish the location of the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
