TINUBU TO ATTEND UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN SEPTEMBER
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September, where world leaders will gather to discuss key global issues, including peace, security, sustainable development, climate change, and international cooperation.
The annual summit provides a platform for heads of state and government to present their countries’ positions on pressing global challenges and strengthen diplomatic relations with other nations.
During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to participate in high-level meetings, bilateral engagements, and discussions aimed at promoting Nigeria’s interests on the international stage.
The President is also expected to use the opportunity to engage with global investors, development partners, and international organisations on issues relating to economic growth, investment, security, and development.
Government officials said Nigeria’s participation in the General Assembly reflects its continued commitment to multilateral cooperation and constructive engagement in addressing regional and global challenges.
Analysts noted that the summit offers an opportunity for Nigeria to strengthen diplomatic partnerships, attract foreign investment, and advance its foreign policy objectives.
The United Nations General Assembly brings together representatives of all member states annually to deliberate on matters affecting international peace, development, human rights, and global governance.
Observers expect discussions during this year’s session to focus on economic recovery, climate action, international security, humanitarian concerns, and sustainable development goals.
Nigeria is expected to reaffirm its commitment to international cooperation while advocating policies that support peace, economic development, and regional stability.
The President’s participation is anticipated to further strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement and reinforce its role in global affairs.
