President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a heartfelt message to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as he marks his 60th birthday today, June 25, 2025.

Describing the governor as a loyal public servant and visionary leader, President Tinubu reflected on Sanwo-Olu’s political journey, which began under his mentorship and has evolved into a career marked by significant contributions to Lagos State's growth.

He highlighted Sanwo-Olu’s past roles in government, including his time as Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation and Commissioner for several key ministries, praising his consistent commitment to development.

Tinubu commended Sanwo-Olu for advancing the legacy projects initiated during his own tenure as governor of Lagos (1999–2007), particularly citing the completion of the Blue and Red Rail lines and efforts toward the Purple Line for the Lekki axis.

He also encouraged the governor to maintain the current pace of development and focus on delivering critical infrastructure, especially the much-anticipated Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road.

In closing, the President offered his best wishes:
“I wish you continued good health, a long life, and many more years of dedicated service to Lagos and Nigeria.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
