President Bola Tinubu arrived in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, on Wednesday afternoon in a bid to tackle the recent wave of violent attacks in the state.
The President landed at the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command Base in Makurdi at approximately 12:58 p.m.
As part of his visit, Tinubu is scheduled to tour Yelwata, a community in Guma Local Government Area that has been severely affected by the recent violence.
He will also hold a meeting with key stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to end the bloodshed and restore lasting peace to the region.
In recognition of the President’s visit, the Benue State Government declared Wednesday a public holiday.
