TOGO SECURES €24M SUPPORT FOR DRONE TECHNOLOGY PROJECT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH POLAND
The government of Togo has secured €24 million in backing for a new drone technology initiative in collaboration with Poland, aimed at boosting innovation and strengthening technological capacity.
Officials said the initiative is designed to support the deployment of drone systems for applications such as infrastructure monitoring, agriculture, logistics, and security operations.
According to project partners, the funding will be used to develop local expertise, expand research and development, and integrate advanced drone solutions into key sectors of the economy.
Authorities noted that the partnership reflects growing cooperation between African and European countries in emerging technologies, particularly in areas such as automation, data collection, and smart infrastructure.
Experts say drone technology is becoming increasingly important across Africa, where governments and private sector players are exploring its use to improve efficiency and service delivery.
The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for skills development and innovation among young professionals in Togo’s growing tech ecosystem.
Officials added that the project aligns with broader national efforts to modernise public services and diversify the country’s economy through digital transformation.
