
Traders’ Bus Bound For Enugu Hijacked In Benue; One Woman Shot, Several Abducted
A commercial bus transporting traders from Orie Orba Market in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State was hijacked on Saturday evening around 7 p.m. by suspected Fulani herdsmen along the Owukpa–Orokam road in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attackers, who ambushed the bus, abducted several passengers—mostly women of various ages. One woman sustained a gunshot wound and was left behind due to the severity of her bleeding. She is currently receiving medical attention at St. Mary’s Hospital in Okpoga.
As of Sunday morning, there had been no communication from the kidnappers to the victims' families.
The leader of the Owukpa vigilante group confirmed the incident, stating that local security teams are actively working to secure the release of the abducted individuals.
