TRAGEDY AS GROOM AND TWO FRIENDS DIE IN CRASH ON WEDDING DAY
A devastating road accident claimed the life of Superintendent of Police Mustapha Garba and two of his friends on Saturday in Bauchi State, as they were on their way to Garba’s wedding ceremony.
The incident was confirmed in a statement by the spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, CSP Mohammed Wakil, who described the loss as a heartbreaking blow to the command.
“The command is in mourning. SP Mustapha Garba was en route to his wedding when the tragic crash occurred,” Wakil stated.
He explained that Garba was traveling with three friends in a Mercedes Benz when the vehicle lost control at Bargan Tsamiya, veered off its lane, and collided head-on with an oncoming Opel Vectra.
Following the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Sani-Omolori, promptly instructed the Divisional Police Officer in Toro to respond and ensure the victims were taken to Toro General Hospital for emergency care.
Tragically, medical personnel at the hospital confirmed that Garba and two others had died. Their bodies have since been released to their families for burial.
