TRAGEDY AS MISSING AAUA STUDENTS FOUND DEAD IN ONDO FOREST
There is deep sorrow at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), as two students who had been missing for weeks were found dead in a forest near the Ondo-Ekiti boundary.
The victims, Andrel Eloho Okah, a student of History and International Studies, and John Friday Abba, from the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Agriculture, were last seen on campus about three weeks ago. Their unexplained absence quickly raised alarm among classmates when they failed to show up for lectures or participate in any school activities.
After unsuccessful attempts to reach them, concerned students reported the matter to security agencies. Sadly, over the weekend, security operatives located their lifeless bodies in the bush, confirming the worst fears. A security source revealed that early investigations point to abduction and murder.
“It is unfortunate to confirm that the two missing AAUA students have been found dead. Preliminary investigations suggest they were abducted and later killed,” the security operative disclosed.
On campus, the mood is heavy. A student who spoke anonymously described how the entire school community has been thrown into mourning.
“There’s a dark cloud over the campus right now. Everyone is in shock and heartbroken,” the student said.
The Ondo State Police Command is yet to release a full statement, but its spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, assured that more information would be provided as investigations progress.
This tragic discovery has once again highlighted growing concerns about the safety of students and the urgent need for enhanced security measures around university communities.
