A night of music and celebration turned tragic for some fans of Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez, as several people reportedly lost their lives in a fatal accident while returning from his concert on Saturday night at Lagos Island.

According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred on the expressway and involved multiple vehicles. A social media user, @alli_ya7, who shared a video of the aftermath on X (formerly Twitter), claimed the victims were engaged in a reckless car race after leaving the show.

“They left the show and started racing on the express, trying to overtake other cars. Why race on the highway? May their souls rest in peace. SPEED KILLS,” the witness wrote.

The heartbreaking incident has sparked outrage and sorrow online, with many fans mourning the victims and warning against the dangers of overspeeding, especially after events where excitement often runs high.

While the exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed, reports suggest that over four vehicles were involved in the crash.

The tragedy has once again brought attention to the issue of reckless driving and overspeeding on Nigerian highways, with calls for more road safety awareness, particularly among young concertgoers.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
