TRANSFER BATTLE: EVERTON JOIN RACE FOR NDIDI AMID SAUDI, MONACO INTEREST

Everton are set to make a fresh move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer, according to DAILY POST.

Ndidi is reportedly keen to leave the Foxes following their relegation from the Premier League. Although he signed a new three-year contract with the club last summer, the deal includes a £9 million release clause.

Everton had previously attempted to sign the Nigerian international before the start of last season, but the 28-year-old turned down their approach. However, the Merseyside club have now renewed their interest as they look to strengthen their midfield.

French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco also tried to sign Ndidi during the January transfer window, but their bid was rejected by Leicester. In addition, clubs from Saudi Arabia have expressed interest in the player and are reportedly ready to offer him a lucrative contract.

Ndidi joined Leicester City from Belgian side KRC Genk in January 2017. During his time at the club, he has made 252 appearances, scored 11 goals, and played a key role in their FA Cup triumph in the 2020/21 season.
