TRANSFER: “WATCH YOUR ANKLES – WE’RE RIVALS NOW,” FOFANA WARNS MADUEKE AFTER ARSENAL SWITCH
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has jokingly warned his former teammate, Noni Madueke, to be cautious on the pitch now that he’s joined Arsenal.
Madueke recently sealed a move from Chelsea to Arsenal, signing a five-year deal with the Gunners.
Taking to Instagram, Fofana made light of their newfound rivalry, writing:
“See you on the field. Protect your ankles, we are enemies now. All the best, mon frère ❤️.”
The two players were teammates at Chelsea, with Madueke arriving from PSV in January 2023 and Fofana having joined six months earlier from Leicester City.
Both played key roles in helping Chelsea secure a fourth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Arsenal reportedly paid £52 million for the 23-year-old winger, who becomes the latest Chelsea player to make the move across London, following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
