TRANSPORT UNION LEADER MC OLUOMO AND NURTW ANNOUNCE PLANS TO FORM CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION FOR TINUBU'S SECOND TERM BID.
Transport workers union NURTW, under MC Oluomo's leadership, is set to unveil a mass movement to rally working-class support behind Tinubu's second-term bid.
The newly launched 'Team Nigeria Project' (TNP) aims to strengthen civic engagement in governance nationwide. At a Lagos press conference on April 9, 2025, spokesperson Olamilekan Pedro stated the group's core mission is to galvanize support for President Tinubu's re-election. Pedro praised the administration's 'courageous economic reforms' which he claimed are yielding positive results.
“Under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, since 2023, Nigeria has seen an economic turnaround,” Pedro said.
“Tough but necessary decisions, like removing the fuel subsidy, have brought about positive changes. Today, our IGR is growing, and states are receiving more funds from the federal government for development.
“The Naira is stabilizing, local refineries are operating, and small businesses are thriving thanks to better infrastructure like roads and power.
“Investments in agriculture have boosted food security, and we no longer rely on food imports. Nigeria’s highways are in great shape, and insecurity has significantly reduced, allowing citizens to live in peace.”
Pedro maintained that the administration's track record merits a second term, revealing that specialized directorates have been established to coordinate youth and women mobilization efforts. The movement will formally debut next month at a high-profile Abuja event, with senior APC leadership expected to grace the occasion.
