TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD JOINS REAL MADRID FROM LIVERPOOL ON A FREE TRANSFER.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is poised to sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid, bringing an end to his exceptional 20-year spell at Liverpool.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed in a post on X on Monday that a verbal agreement has already been reached, and the deal is in place. After confirming his departure from Liverpool at the season’s end, Alexander-Arnold’s move was swiftly put into motion.
After leading Liverpool to a victorious campaign that secured their 20th Premier League title, the club’s vice-captain made the emotional announcement. He wrote on his X account:
“After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season,” the 26-year-old said. “This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.”
“I know many of you have wondered why or been frustrated that I haven’t spoken about this yet, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the team’s best interests, which was securing No.20.”
To stay fully committed to Liverpool’s title pursuit, the England international delayed making a statement, explaining that his focus remained on the team’s ambitions. The academy graduate has since become one of the club’s most influential players.
Now, he is ready to embark on a new chapter of his career in Spain, with a move to the European powerhouse, Real Madrid, on the horizon.
