TROOPS ARREST WOMAN SUPPLYING LOGISTICS TO BANDIT LEADER ADO ALIERO, NAB SIX OTHERS NATIONWIDE
Nigerian troops have arrested a female logistics supplier linked to notorious bandit leader Ado Aliero in Zamfara State.
The arrest took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Kucheri, Tsafe district, where the woman was caught with weapons, cash, and other items. According to military sources, she admitted to also peddling drugs for the wanted kingpin.
The army confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, September 7, adding that six other suspects were arrested in separate operations across the country, with troops recovering arms, stolen property, and fuel supplies.
In Borno State, soldiers of the 192 Battalion, working with a hybrid security force, engaged Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in a gunfight near Kwatara Kasa village, killing one fighter.
In Adamawa, troops intercepted two suspected fuel smugglers in Mubi South with 19 jerrycans of petrol strapped to motorcycles.
In Plateau State, Operation Enduring Peace uncovered a hidden cache containing two AK-47 rifles at Mista Ali village, Bassa. A suspected informant earlier arrested in Jos attempted to flee during the recovery and was killed.
Meanwhile, in Abuja, Guards Brigade troops tracked down three suspects who had escaped a checkpoint in a stolen vehicle from Osun State. They were arrested at a hotel in Gwagwalada, where troops recovered the stolen car, 11 mobile phones, and ₦29,700. The suspects and seized items have since been handed over to the police.
The army assured that operations are ongoing nationwide to dismantle criminal networks, recover illegal weapons, and restore peace across troubled communities.
