TROOPS RAID ZAMFARA TERRORIST CAMPS, ARREST THREE SUSPECTED COLLABORATORS

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have carried out operations against terrorist enclaves linked to a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Muhammadu Filani, in Zamfara State.

The military operation resulted in the arrest of three suspected terrorist collaborators, while several hideouts associated with the criminal network were destroyed.

The operation was conducted as part of intensified efforts by security forces to dismantle terrorist and bandit networks operating across the North-West.

According to the report, troops targeted locations believed to be used by members and associates of the group for criminal activities, including the planning and execution of attacks on communities.

The military said the operation successfully disrupted the activities of the terrorist network and denied the suspects access to some of their known enclaves.

The three arrested suspects are currently assisting security personnel with investigations aimed at uncovering the wider structure of the network and identifying other individuals connected to the group.

Troops are also expected to sustain operations in the affected areas as security agencies intensify efforts to prevent terrorists and bandits from regrouping after their camps are destroyed.

The latest operation forms part of the broader military campaign to restore security across Zamfara and other states in the North-West, where criminal groups have continued to pose threats to rural communities.

Security forces have repeatedly stressed the importance of intelligence gathering and cooperation from residents in identifying the locations and activities of criminal groups.

The destruction of the terrorist enclaves is expected to weaken the operational capacity of the group linked to Kachalla Muhammadu Filani and make it more difficult for its members to use the locations as bases for further attacks.

The military has continued to assure residents that operations against terrorists and their collaborators will be sustained until the security threats facing communities in the region are significantly reduced.
