TROOPS REPEL ISWAP ATTACK IN CHIBOK
Nigerian troops from the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), successfully repelled a large-scale attack by ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists in Chibok, Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama reported on Saturday that over 300 terrorists launched a coordinated, multi-front assault on the community, attempting to breach defensive positions and overwhelm deployed soldiers.
Makama stated that troops responded immediately with superior firepower and well-coordinated maneuvers, engaging the attackers in a two-hour gun battle that forced them to retreat toward the Timbuktu Triangle.
“The troops were alert and professionally contained the attack. There were no casualties on our side, and no equipment was affected,” Makama said, citing a military intelligence source.
After the terrorists withdrew, ground forces requested air support, prompting the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to deploy combat aircraft to the identified withdrawal axis.
“The NAF jets delivered precise and devastating strikes along the terrorists’ escape route, eliminating a significant number of fighters and disrupting their movement,” the source added.
According to the report, four major airstrikes were carried out by NAF combat aircraft along the terrorists’ withdrawal route toward the Timbuktu Triangle. These strikes were guided by real-time intelligence from ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai.
