TROOPS RESCUE SIX KIDNAPPED CHILDREN IN KATSINA VILLAGE
Security forces in Katsina State have rescued six children who were kidnapped during an attack on Gidan Maga village, Malumfashi Local Government Area.
The incident happened on Monday when armed men stormed the community in an attempt to abduct residents. However, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working with police operatives and local vigilantes, swiftly engaged the attackers in a gun battle.
Overpowered, the gunmen abandoned the children and fled into the nearby Naalma Forest.
The rescued victims were identified as:
Abdulhakim Rilwanu (12)
Zinatu Mansir (10)
Ado Sani (9)
Sani Umar (10)
Yusuf Umar (10)
Jamilu Nasiru (11)
All six children, who are from the same village, were rescued unharmed and later reunited with their families.
Security forces have since launched a search-and-rescue operation in the forest to track down the fleeing suspects and ensure the community remains safe.
This latest rescue highlights the ongoing efforts of security agencies to tackle banditry and kidnapping in Katsina and other parts of the North.
