TRUMP CONGRATULATES TAYLOR SWIFT AND TRAVIS KELCE ON ENGAGEMENT DESPITE PAST FEUD (VIDEO)
U.S. President Donald Trump has surprised many with his reaction to the news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement.
Swift, the global pop superstar, and Kelce, the Super Bowl–winning NFL player, announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, August 26, sparking widespread excitement across social media.
During a Cabinet meeting, a reporter interrupted with the viral pop culture news and asked Trump for his thoughts. In response, Trump said warmly:
"Well, I wish him a lot of luck. I think he's a great player. I think he's a great guy. And I think that she's a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck."
The comments came as a surprise to many, given Trump’s rocky history with Swift. Back in September 2024, he posted on Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” after the singer publicly endorsed then–Vice President Kamala Harris. Swift had also endorsed Joe Biden during the 2020 election.
Earlier this year, in May 2025, Trump even mocked the singer, writing: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?”
Despite their political differences, Trump’s latest remarks signal a rare moment of goodwill toward Swift, leaving fans and critics equally stunned.
