TWO DEAD, 20 INJURED IN PORTUGAL BUS CRASH
Two people were killed, and 20 others were injured, three of them seriously, in a bus crash in the suburbs of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, police said.
“The two victims were waiting for the bus when they were struck,” the police chief of the western area of Sintra, Francisco Alves, told local media.
The emergency services said they were both women, aged 30 and 40.
Rescue services and psychological support were sent to the scene.
Prime Minister Luis Montenegro said he reacted with “great dismay” to news of the accident and extended his condolences to the victims’ families.
“To the injured, my wishes for a swift and full recovery,” he wrote on X.
