Two Men Face Charges in Lagos for Alleged Motorcycle Theft

Two men, Saheed Olayemi and Ibrahim Magaji, have been arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged theft of a motorcycle worth N1.35 million.

The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, malicious damage, and receiving stolen property. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, the incident took place on July 22 in the Ire Akindina area of Igbogbo, Ikorodu. Olayemi, Magaji, and others still at large were accused of stealing a black Zongshen motorcycle with registration number SMK 112 QN and damaging its number plate.

Famuyiwa further alleged that Magaji knowingly received the stolen motorcycle, which belongs to one Mr. Habeeb Ismaila.

The offences, the prosecutor noted, violate Sections 411, 287, 350, and 328 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Magistrate A.O. Ogbe granted each defendant bail set at N200,000, with two sureties in the same amount, and adjourned the case until August 21 for mention.
