UAE CHANGES REQUIREMENTS FOR JOBSEEKER VISA

The United Arab Emirates has updated the eligibility criteria and documentation requirements for foreigners seeking to enter the country on a jobseeker visit visa.

The UAE Government disclosed the changes in a notice released on Thursday and sighted by PUNCH Online.

The jobseeker visa allows eligible foreigners to enter the UAE to search for employment without first securing a job or obtaining a sponsor. However, the visa does not permit holders to work in the country. A separate work visa or permit is required after securing employment.

The visa is available for 60, 90 or 120 days for a single trip.

Applicants must either fall within the first, second or third skill levels classified by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or have graduated from one of the world’s top 500 universities under the classification approved by the Ministry of Education.

Applicants using the university qualification route must have graduated within the previous two years.

Other requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and the prescribed financial guarantee.

Applicants are also required to submit a coloured photograph, passport copy and attested qualification certificate. Applications can be made through the relevant online services of the UAE immigration authorities.
