Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has officially launched the first phase of a statewide initiative to distribute 600 transformers and 10,000 solar-powered streetlights across all 23 local government areas.

On his verified Facebook page, the governor described the rollout as more than just the deployment of equipment, calling it a “decisive stride in our comprehensive energy reform programme and a reaffirmation of our commitment to inclusive, development-driven governance.”

He emphasized that the initiative is part of a structured plan to rehabilitate weakened electricity distribution networks, replace vandalized installations, and restore reliable energy access to communities long neglected.

“Energy is not a luxury; it is the lifeblood of modern society. Illuminated streets reduce insecurity, encourage business activity, and enhance civic life. Traders can operate confidently for longer hours, families move safely, and neighborhoods regain the rhythm of productive coexistence,” he noted.

Governor Sani also acknowledged the support of stakeholders, development partners, and agencies whose collaboration has been crucial in advancing a resilient and sustainable energy future for Kaduna State.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
