UNIVERSITY WARNS AGAINST ADMISSION SCAM TARGETING CANDIDATES WITH 150 JAMB SCORE
The management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) in Abia State has raised concerns over fraudulent admission offers being circulated by unidentified individuals. These scammers are allegedly targeting candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to the university, the false advertisements are being spread through social media platforms, inviting applicants to seek admission into the institution’s College of Management Sciences (COLMAS).
In a statement released on Thursday, the University Registrar, Dr. Nkeiruka Charity Mbanasor, distanced the institution from the misleading posts. She clarified that neither JAMB nor the university's admission board has announced any official cut-off mark for admissions.
The university urged prospective students and the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to the fraudulent scheme. It advised them to rely solely on the university’s official website for credible information.
Meanwhile, the university confirmed that its undergraduate programmes in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Marketing, and Business Administration are now fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and have also been approved by JAMB.
