ValueJet Airlines has announced the expansion of its Lagos–Owerri operations with the launch of daily flights, aimed at enhancing connectivity between Nigeria’s commercial hub and the South-East region amid rising passenger demand.

Effective 23 March 2026, the airline will increase its Lagos–Owerri services from three flights per week to seven, providing travellers with greater flexibility and improved scheduling options.

The expansion is expected to ease travel pressure along one of Nigeria’s busiest domestic routes, frequently used by business travellers, families, and entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the development, ValueJet’s Managing Director, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the move underscores the airline’s commitment to improving domestic air connectivity and supporting economic activity nationwide.

“The introduction of daily flights on the Lagos–Owerri route responds directly to growing passenger demand. Our aim is to offer dependable and convenient travel options that connect people, businesses, and opportunities across Nigeria,” Majekodunmi said.

He added that the route holds strategic importance for commerce, education, and social interaction between the two regions, emphasizing that consistent flight availability will improve mobility for professionals and families relying on predictable travel schedules.

“Reliable air transport is essential to national development. By increasing frequency, we are helping travellers plan better while also strengthening economic and social ties,” he concluded.
