Veeam Software has launched its new DataAI Command Platform. The company introduced the platform on May 12, 2026, at the VeeamON conference in New York City.

The DataAI Command Platform is designed to provide a unified trust layer for organisations using artificial intelligence. It brings together data protection, security, governance, compliance, privacy, and resilience in one place. This is especially important as more companies adopt agentic AI autonomous systems that can act independently and at high speed.

Veeam, known for its data backup and recovery solutions, created the platform by combining its long experience in data resilience with technology from its acquisition of Securiti AI. The system uses a DataAI Command Graph that maps relationships between data, user identities, access rights, and AI systems across both live and backup environments.

Key features The platform helps companies discover and classify sensitive data, monitor who is accessing what, and respond quickly to risks. It aims to reduce threats from AI systems, which some experts now see as a top cybersecurity concern. Companies can better protect data, enforce policies, meet regulatory requirements, and recover precisely if something goes wrong.

This launch comes as African businesses and enterprises across the continent increase their use of AI tools. Many organisations are looking for ways to adopt AI safely while protecting customer data and meeting growing compliance demands.

Veeam says the platform fills a gap in the AI technology stack by adding a dedicated trust and security layer. It supports hybrid and multi-cloud setups, which are common in large enterprises.

The company plans to roll out additional capabilities over time, including a new DataAI Resilience Module. This will help teams recover data faster and more accurately in AI-powered environments.

Veeam currently protects data for hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide, including many of the largest global companies. With this new platform, it hopes to support organisations that want to scale AI responsibly while keeping strong control over their information.

The DataAI Command Platform is now available for customers as Veeam continues to expand its offerings in the data and AI security space.
