England women’s national team coach, Sarina Wiegman, has jokingly invited Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy to join her in a dance celebration after being named Coach of the Year (Women) at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards in Paris.

Wiegman, who guided the Lionesses to their historic Euro 2025 triumph in Switzerland—their first major international title on foreign soil—expressed gratitude to her players, technical staff, and family during her acceptance speech before adding a playful twist.

“Let’s celebrate our successes too, and if Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a little bit of dancing as well,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.

Burna Boy quickly reacted on X (formerly Twitter), replying:
“haha, I’m up for it Sarina! Huge congratulations to you and the team #Lionesses.”

The exchange has since thrilled fans across social media, rekindling memories of Wiegman’s open admiration for the Nigerian music star.

It will be recalled that after the Lionesses’ Euro victory, Wiegman received a pleasant surprise during their Buckingham Palace homecoming parade when Burna Boy performed live—a moment she described as unforgettable, having often called him her favourite artist.
