VIGILANTE KILLS GIRLFRIEND, INJURES TWO OTHERS IN ABIA
The Abia State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a local vigilante member accused of killing his girlfriend and attacking two others in Amakama, Ubakala.
Police spokesperson Maureen Chinaka said the suspect, identified as Chinedu Anamelechi, allegedly shot Ezinne Ariwodo dead, stabbed her sister, and also shot another young man in the community.
Officers who responded to the scene reportedly found the deceased with gunshot wounds, while the two injured victims were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police said the body has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy, while items recovered from the scene are undergoing analysis.
Authorities added that calm has been restored in the area and investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to arrest the fleeing suspect.
