WE’RE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HUNGER IN NIGERIA – PDP FIRES BACK AT APC
The Peoples Democratic Party has rejected claims that it is responsible for the hunger and economic hardship facing Nigerians, urging the ruling All Progressives Congress to focus on solutions.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, criticised comments attributed to APC spokesperson Felix Morka during a television appearance.
The party also challenged similar remarks reportedly made by President Bola Tinubu in Kaduna during the launch of his 2027 re-election campaign.
Mohammed described the comments as an attempt to shift responsibility and distract Nigerians from the challenges facing the country under the APC-led government.
He said the administration must account for its performance and take practical steps to ease hardship, improve food security and raise living standards.
The PDP urged the government to explain how it plans to make food affordable, support farmers and strengthen local food production.
Mohammed maintained that Nigerians need clear policies and measurable results, adding that the ruling party should deliver on its promises rather than blame the opposition.
