Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake have been confirmed as headliners for the highly anticipated Afro Nation 2026 festival, set to take place in Portugal.

Festival organisers announced the star-studded lineup via an official post on X (@AfroNation), describing the upcoming edition as a vibrant blend of global icons and emerging international talents.

The three-day event is scheduled for Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, and will once again be hosted at the scenic Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, Portugal.

Recognised as one of the world’s leading platforms for Afrobeats, Amapiano, and R&B, Afro Nation has grown into a major global cultural celebration since its debut.

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy will open the festival on July 3, delivering his signature fusion of Afrobeat, dancehall, and global sounds. He will be joined on stage by South African breakout star Tyla, whose rapid rise in Amapiano has earned her international acclaim.

Asake, celebrated for his high-energy blend of Afrobeats, street pop, and soulful rhythms, is billed to headline July 4, while Wizkid will bring the festival to a grand close on July 5.

Beyond the headlining acts, Afro Nation 2026 will feature a diverse lineup of international performers. American R&B singer Kehlani and rapper Gunna are listed as special guests, adding cross-genre appeal to the event.

The festival will also spotlight several Nigerian artists, including Olamide, Young John, Darkoo, Wande Coal, and Mavo, underscoring Africa’s growing influence on the global music scene.

Organisers disclosed that early-access ticket sales will begin on February 5, giving fans an opportunity to secure passes ahead of the general sale.

Founded in 2019 in Portugal by The Malachite Group, Afro Nation is an annual three-day festival dedicated to celebrating African music, culture, fashion, and cuisine, while fostering connections across the global African diaspora.

Since its launch, the festival has expanded to multiple international destinations, including Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit, with past headliners such as Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj.
