Afrobeats sensations Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake have been nominated for the 51st American Music Awards.

They will compete in the Favourite Afrobeats Artist category, which also features South African Grammy winner Tyla.

Introduced in 2022, the category highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats, with Wizkid making history as its first-ever winner.

Kendrick Lamar leads the pack at this year’s American Music Awards with 10 nominations, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for GNX, and Song of the Year for Not Like Us.

Post Malone trails with 8 nods, while Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each secured 7 nominations. Taylor Swift, the most decorated artist in AMAs history, earned 6 nominations this year.

This year’s American Music Awards will debut three new categories: Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Social Song of the Year.

Jennifer Lopez is set to return as host for the first time since 2015 and will also hit the stage with a performance.

The 2025 ceremony is scheduled for May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live, reaching audiences around the globe.
