WWE’S NAOMI ANNOUNCES PREGNANCY, VACATES WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
WWE superstar Naomi has officially announced that she is expecting her first child with husband and fellow wrestler Jimmy Uso. The news was revealed during Monday Night Raw, where Naomi also confirmed that she would be relinquishing her Women’s World Championship.
The 37-year-old, who won the title in July, told fans she is seven weeks pregnant. Staying in character, Naomi initially resisted handing over the belt but then promised she would be back in nine months to reclaim her spot at the top of the division.
Backstage, Triple H congratulated the couple in a heartfelt video, writing:
“Couldn’t be happier for @TheTrinity_Fatu & Jimmy @WWEUsos! Some things matter more than championships. #WWERaw”
Naomi later shared more details on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, explaining that the pregnancy came as a surprise because of her past fertility struggles. She previously underwent an oophorectomy (removal of one ovary) before her WWE debut in 2012 and later had a myomectomy to remove fibroids.
“On top of being 37 and only having one ovary, we thought that naturally I couldn’t anymore,” Naomi admitted. “I found out Sunday, called him, and then stressed about having to tell work because of where I am right now as the champion. Of all times.”
Despite the initial shock, both Naomi and Jimmy expressed joy. While Naomi will need frequent medical checkups due to being considered high-risk, she reassured fans that everything looks positive so far.
Reactions quickly poured in across WWE. Becky Lynch playfully teased Naomi, calling her “irresponsible” — a nod to when Lynch had to vacate her own title in 2020 after announcing her pregnancy.
Naomi now steps away from the ring at the peak of her career, but with determination and her trademark energy, she has vowed to return stronger than ever.
