YAHAYA BELLO BACKS ABEJIDE’S THIRD-TERM BID, URGES POLITICAL CONTINUITY IN KOGI
Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has called on voters in Yagba Federal Constituency to support the re-election of their representative, Leke Abejide, for a third term in the House of Representatives.
Bello appealed in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Onogwu Muhammed, in Abuja on Friday.
He said his endorsement is aimed at strengthening development in the constituency and ensuring continuity in ongoing legislative projects.
According to him, lawmakers become more effective with experience, adding that a third-term legislator is better positioned to deliver greater impact than a first-term member.
Bello explained that seniority and experience in the National Assembly play a key role in influencing policy, attracting federal projects, and securing leadership positions in committees.
He added that experienced legislators are more familiar with parliamentary procedures and are better equipped to navigate the legislative process.
The former governor also said key stakeholders in Kogi State are aligned in supporting Abejide’s re-election bid.
He urged aspirants from other local government areas, particularly Mopa-Muro, to be patient and allow continuity in representation.
Bello stressed that legislative service should not be seen as a rotational position, but as an opportunity that rewards performance and experience.
He noted that continuity would help complete ongoing projects and attract more development to the constituency.
Bello described Abejide as a credible and dependable lawmaker whose leadership has positively impacted his constituents.
