Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has been appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Qatar.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been assigned as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors whose nominations were confirmed last December, assigning them to various countries.
The President has also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately begin the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners.
