YAKUBU MUHAMMAD KINGSLEY PICKS PRP PRESIDENTIAL FORM FOR 2027 RACE
Nigeria’s 2027 presidential race is gradually taking shape as Yakubu Muhammad Kingsley, popularly known as YMK, has officially picked the presidential nomination form of the Peoples Redemption Party.
The form was obtained on Thursday at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, signaling YMK’s intention to challenge Bola Tinubu in the next general election.
Speaking after receiving the form, Yakubu Muhammad Kingsley said his decision to join the race was motivated by his desire to see a better-functioning Nigeria and improved living conditions for citizens.
According to him, the country needs leadership that prioritises doing things the right way and focuses on the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
His campaign team also described the move as more than just a political declaration, calling it a commitment to national rebuilding.
The Director-General of the YMK Campaign Organisation, Aliyu Abdullahi Jibia, said the choice of the PRP was based on the party’s ideology and its historical focus on the masses and less privileged citizens.
“We have shown the world today that we are the Peoples Redemption Party, and we are going to contest on the platform of the party,” Jibia stated.
The announcement adds another name to the growing list of politicians preparing early for the 2027 elections, as parties continue to reorganise and position themselves for the next political cycle.
Meanwhile, the campaign’s National Women Leader, Maryam Ringim, called on women and supporters across the country to intensify grassroots mobilisation and membership registration ahead of the party primaries.
She stressed the importance of women in political mobilisation and encouraged them to actively support the campaign.
Ringim also assured Nigerians that YMK would pursue an inclusive style of leadership if elected, with a focus on women and youth empowerment.
While the major political parties continue to dominate national conversations, smaller parties like the PRP appear determined to remain visible and relevant ahead of 2027.
And as more aspirants begin to emerge, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the road to the next presidential election has already begun.
