The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has reported that more than 70,000 party members have been registered in the ongoing e-membership registration and revalidation exercise across the state’s 17 local government areas.

Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, the state chairman, revealed this during a stakeholders’ meeting with party members in Damaturu. “The registration dashboard indicates that over 70,000 members have so far been captured in the exercise,” he said.

Gadaka highlighted that effective grassroots mobilisation and continuous awareness campaigns were crucial to the programme’s success. He stressed the importance of deliberate mobilisation, ongoing sensitisation, and proper coordination of party members at the state, local government, and ward levels to ensure the exercise reached all constituencies and encouraged widespread participation.

Reassuring party members of the APC’s commitment to justice, equity, fairness, and inclusive governance, Gadaka stated, “The APC will continue to carry the people along in all its programmes and initiatives.”

Hon Usman Kabarma, Special Adviser to the Yobe State Governor on Political Matters, noted that party members were fully mobilised and ready to provide strong grassroots support to ensure the success of the e-membership registration and revalidation exercise.

Governor Mai Mala Buni had previously directed APC officials to revalidate existing members and register new ones. Following the revalidation of his own membership, he emphasised that “every member of the party should be registered or have their membership revalidated. No member should be disenfranchised. As the leading party in the state and in Nigeria, we must justify this numerical strength through proper documentation of our membership.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
