Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia and Huawei have strengthened their partnership to support ICT skills development in Zambia.

The collaboration is focused on equipping students and young professionals with practical digital and technology skills needed to compete in today’s evolving job market. Through training initiatives, workshops, and certification programs, the partnership aims to help bridge the country’s digital skills gap.

As technology continues to reshape industries worldwide, demand for ICT professionals is growing rapidly. ICTAZ and Huawei say the renewed partnership is designed to prepare more Zambians for opportunities in areas such as networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.

The initiative is also expected to support Zambia’s broader digital transformation agenda by helping build a workforce capable of driving innovation and supporting the country’s growing tech ecosystem.

Education and industry stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that partnerships between private technology firms and professional bodies can play a major role in improving access to quality ICT training.

For many young people, access to digital skills training is increasingly becoming essential for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Programs like this can help improve career readiness while encouraging innovation among students and emerging professionals.

Experts believe sustained investment in ICT education will be key to strengthening Africa’s digital economy and improving global competitiveness.

As the partnership expands, focus will remain on how effectively the training programs translate into real-world opportunities and long-term impact for Zambia’s technology sector.
