ZICSALOMA DISMISSES CROSSDRESSING RUMORS, SAYS FEMALE ROLES ARE JUST FOR COMEDY
Well-known Nigerian comedian and skit creator, Aloma Isaac Junior, popularly known as Zicsaloma, has addressed circulating rumors about him being a crossdresser. He made it clear that his appearances in female clothing are purely for comedic performance and have nothing to do with his personal lifestyle.
In a recent interview, Zicsaloma—who recently had cosmetic procedures, including a nose job and facial enhancements in Turkey—firmly denied claims suggesting he practices or promotes crossdressing. He emphasized that portraying female characters is simply a tool in his comedic arsenal.
“I’m not a crossdresser. I only dress as women when creating content. I don’t even apply makeup—not because I can’t do comedy without it, but mimicking women is where my comedic strength lies,” he said.
The skit maker explained that taking on female roles is no different from comedians impersonating ethnic or cultural stereotypes for humor. He argued that such portrayals should not be misinterpreted as an endorsement of any particular lifestyle.
“Some people excel at imitating different characters, like a typical Hausa man. Does that mean I’ve influenced popular crossdressers—though I won’t mention names—who attend events in full gowns?” he added.
Zicsaloma’s comments come at a time when gender expression in Nigerian entertainment is a hot-button issue. By addressing the matter directly, he aims to set the record straight and protect his image while still enjoying creative freedom.
His clarification highlights the ongoing balancing act many Nigerian content creators face—between pushing creative boundaries and respecting cultural sensitivities.
Zicsaloma remains a standout figure in the comedy space, with a growing fan base and a distinct storytelling style that has earned him recognition across the country.
