Rapper Zlatan Ibile has urged upcoming artistes to prepare for the mental challenges that come with fame, stressing the importance of having access to professional therapists once they attain success.

The Zanku hitmaker shared this advice on his social media page on Thursday, encouraging young musicians and their sponsors to include therapy costs in their budgets alongside promotion and marketing expenses.

On his X handle, Zlatan wrote:
“If you get brother or sister wey be fast-rising artist and you believe say he or she go blow, as una dey keep money for marketing and promo, make una dey keep therapist money for one side too cos lol!!!”

He explained that the music industry is emotionally demanding and can take a toll on an artiste’s mental health.

Over the years, several Nigerian musicians have spoken openly about struggling with depression while navigating fame. In 2022, singer Omah Lay revealed via X that his battle with depression worsened following an affair with his therapist.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
